This has more information than what you need at this point, but it can't hurt to review.

3D Cell Model-Not Edibles
You will be creating a 3D model of the two types of cells. You will have to included the given organelles. The organelles should look similar if they have them in both cell types. You will also have to give me the function of the organelles and a compare and contrast of these two cells. You will have three class periods to work on this them and you will be displaying your cells and presenting them to guest. On the backdrop of your display, you will have what the cell theory is and be able to explain it.
You may choose anytime of prokaryote and eukaryote that you would like but the organelles should be appropriate for that cell and you must give two organelles that are specific to that cell only and be able to point it out.
Your presentation will be on 10/25/19
This is an individual project
Organelles that must be displayed on your cells
These must be present in your model but you may add specific organelles for your cell if you need.
Cell Membrane
Nucleus
Nucleoid Region
Ribosomes
Capsule
Cell Wall
Flagella
Cilia
Golgi Body
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
Mitochondria
Chloroplast
Vacuole
Lysosomes
Peroxisome
Due today 10/17/19
Plan of how your display will be
What are the two types of cells and what makes them different from each other.
What is the cell theory and it's components
What are the functions of the organelles

Requirements for Display
1) 3D Model Prokaryotic Cell- Organelles need to labeled and the function needs to be either on label or on a key
2) 3D Model Eukaryotic Cell-Organelles need to labeled and the function needs to be either on label or on a key
a) You must have two organelles and state as such, that are unique to your Eukaryotic Cell
3) Cell Theory and it's components
4) Compare and Contrast between Prokaryotic Cells and Eukaryotic Cells
5) Explanation of the Endosymbiotic Theory-You may include a diagram

Write a journal in in Schoology.
It should be at least three paragraphs long or about 200 words. In your journal you should tell me if you are sticking to your plan on the models. How you plan to create them so that they include the labeling of the organelle and its function.
You should tell me how much you got done today and be specific. If all you did was the research then state that.
You should lastly tell me what you plan to do for the next class meeting and what you expect to have done for that day.
****This is due after class today.

Write a journal in in Schoology.
It should be at least three paragraphs long or about 200 words. In your journal you should tell me if you were able to complete what you had tasked out to complete from the previous meeting?

Write a journal in Schoology
It should be at least three paragraphs long or about 200 words
In your journal tell me how your getting along with your model. What have you gotten accomplished. Tell me what you are still missing. Let me know how your display is going and if there is more information you need to get done. You should, technically be done with your stuff today, however, you need to be done by next class meeting or mostly done by next class meeting so that you can do self evaluations with your peers. Let me know in your journal how you plan to get this done or what you still need to do to get this done.
Check off List for Display
Go through the Check off list and make sure that you have everything that is being asked on your display. These are what will give you the best possible points. Look at the rubric for how your display will be graded.

Template for Report
Reminder that the lab paper is due on Feb 5. Make sure that all the questions are answered in proper complete sentences and that your sketches are labeled properly. I have included a template for your report. You can use this report or one of your own however the format should be the same. If you do use the template make sure to delete the directions. I only want your information not the directions. I will deduct points it the directions were not deleted. Your report must be written in Times Roman, Calibri, or Arial, font size 12 (except your cover page, that can be larger font size), and 1.5 spacing. The report should be written in Third Person Style.
