Cell Review
The following is a Worksheet on Cell Review. The videos above and the power point above can be used to help answer these questions, however you can use other information to answer these question. Makes sure that you ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS IN PROPER COMPLETE SENTENCES, in other words, restate the question then answer the questions. The following assignment is due for B day students on 9/28/18 and for A day students on 10/1/18. You will need to upload it to Schoology. Cells and their Organelles-10/2 B day,
10/3 A day
You will be creating a Eukaryotic Cell Model for three different Eukaryotic cells. Plant and animal of course but then you will choose another Eukaryote to make another model. What you will do is you will link all the organelles that are similar to the Eukaryotes and then you will point out what organelles are different in the Eukaryotes. Along with that you will also have to give me the function of all organelles. You will have two day to complete this assignment.
The organelles that must be in your model are:
Nucleus
Nucleolus
Nuclear Membrane
Cell Membrane
Cell Wall
Golgi apparatus
Smooth endoplasmic reticulum
Rough endoplasmic reticulum
Ribosomes
Vacuole
Vesicle
Lysosomes
Peroxisomes
Mitochondria
Chloroplast
Chromatin
Microtubules
You must also include any organelles on the third model that is specific for that model and it's function
Title your specific cells, example: Animal Cell, Plant Cell, etc.

Observing Cells in a Microscope and Making Sketches
Quiz on Cells
On Schoology you will take a multiple choice quiz on cells. Once you have completed your quiz, start on the lab on Onion, Elodea, Cheek cells. One microscope per person. This is an individual lab. The lab will be due on Feb 5. You will upload your report to Schoology and you will turn in the written portion of the lab to me on Feb 5 as well. You will not be working on the lab on Feb 5, this is the due date. Make sure you are keeping up. This will count as two lab grades.

Template for Report
Reminder that the lab paper is due on Dec 14, but if you get it to me sooner, I can help with corrections to assure a much better grade. Make sure that all the questions are answered in proper complete sentences and that your sketches are labeled properly and that I or a lab TA have signed off on your sketches.
As for the Lab report, I have included a template for your report. You can use this report or one of your own however the format should be the same. If you do use the template make sure to delete the directions. I only want your information not the directions. I will deduct points it the directions were not deleted. Your report must be written in Times Roman, Calibri, or Arial, font size 12 (except your cover page, that can be larger font size), and 1.5 spacing. The report should be written in Third Person Style. I have included directions for what I want on the template below. This is also due on Dec 14, however if you want to turn it in sooner to assure a better grade please get it in sooner. You will be uploading this on Schoology
A reminder, the lab report papers with the questions and you sketches are a lab grade which is 40 % of your grade. This lab is the only lab grade you have. If you do not turn it in, you will fail. The report is a test grade. Test grades are 30% of the grade. You do have one other test grade, but if you don't turn this in it will drop your grade a lot.

Article Review
Make-Up Assignments for Clock In and Clock Outs
You will write a 500 word review of any of the articles below for one make-up assignment either in a Clock In or Clock Out. In Schoology, you will select the make up day that you are writing the article review for. You can choose any article that you would like to do. These articles are for one Clock in zero or one Clock out zero. For each zero in your clock in or clock out, you can make them up by doing an article review. I have included a guide for writing article reviews that you can use to help you write them. The article review must be well written, and should be as error free of grammar and spelling as possible. If the article review is not well written or 500 words, I will not accept it as a make up grade.
